a 56 y.o. female with a history of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. started getting sick about 4 days ago, tested + for covid then. started getting short of breath a couple days ago related to above, worse with exertion, nothing makes it better. fever and chills with this. to ed, has pe on cva." hospital course: the patient was admitted to the hospital and was evaluated and treated per below. * pulmonary embolism associated with covid-19 o pulmonary embolism associated with covid-19 virus. continue to monitor on telemetry. echocardiogram showed no right heart strain. treated initially with iv heparin drip transitioned to po eliquis with continued improvement. continue to monitor closely. discharged home on oral anticoagulation to follow up outpatient with primary care provider. o pneumonia due to covid 19 virus with acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. improving on current treatment. continue remdesivir d3/5. nebs and inhalers as ordered. continue to follow up daily inflammatory markers and d-dimer. patient was weaned off oxygen to ra. continue nebs and inhalers. encourage incentive spirometry use and pronating. continue supportive/symptomatic treatment and supplements as ordered per covid protocol. followed up daily lab. home oxygen to use as needed. o diabetes mellitus type 2. continue with same home regimen/equivalent. monitor blood sugar and cover with insulin sliding scale. advance diet to a diabetic. a1c ordered. o hypertension. controlled. continue same treatment. follow up daily labs
